Something I’ve been thinking about while doing my reflections + visions for 2022 is “Who do I want to be this year?” or “How do I want to show up?” instead of “What do I want to do?” or “What do I want to achieve this year?”
This also came up very strongly for me in Owaken Breathwork’s half day long magical Manifest workshop last week. I saw myself showing up as a very confident, empowered, and embodied leader… inspiring others, leading workshops + women’s circles, and sharing the wisdom from my lived experiences.
As much as I was journaling on my intentions + goals for 2022 before this breathwork ceremony, I came out of it with a completely new outlook on myself and my goals. This breathwork journey showed me “who I have to become” in order to achieve the goals that I’m setting for myself, not just for this year, but for life. It showed me that these goals and achievements are simply a way (thanks universe!), a path for me to become the human, the woman and the leader that I’m on this planet to become.
I realized that I will achieve all that I want to achieve only when I embody and unlock this higher level of strength and courage to show up in my full potential, not afraid of the limiting beliefs that hold me back. It was almost a light bulb moment for me when an empowered image of myself became bright and clear in my head and I instantly knew that my goals are simply here to help me unlock the higher level of fearlessness + greatness that we are all here to embody!
Now, the first part of making this change starts with MINDSET.
WHO I am or who I become as a person by shedding away layers of my fears and limiting beliefs is what is going to lead me to fulfilling all those achievements that I so desire, not the other way round.
And I don’t mean this simply as another spin on the whole “New Year, New Me” recital, I mean this in a very holistic, wholesome way. I don’t want you all to think that I’m pushing you to become a “better” version of you, I simply mean to shine a light on a more embodied and holistic way of being, not deriving our sense of worth from our accomplishments, but from how unapologetically we own ourselves and how lovingly we show up in the world, for ourselves and for others.
So, yes! it’s important to have all our goals + milestones down pat, but imagine how wholesome it would be to look back on your year at the end and feel into WHO you’ve become as a person, and how much you’ve evolved + grown by gracefully accepting all the challenges and curveballs that came your way!
Here’s who I want to be this year –
I want to be aligned, aligned with my soul and aligned with the spirit. Aligned with the universe, living in a state of flow. Aligned with all my wants and desires + what feels good in my body, attracting all the magical synchronicities and witnessing the magic of life everyday.
I will be confident in how I show up in the world – anywhere, anytime. Confident in how I show up for myself + for those who I deeply love and care about, letting go of thinking or worrying about others’ judgements and expectations.
I am going to stand in my own power, believing in myself + knowing my worth as a conscious leader who is inspiring change. I will take all my decisions and actions from a place of what feels good to me and what makes me come alive and inspires me to show up in my full potential, not from a place of fear or lack.
I want to go within and connect deeply to my body, trusting not my mind, but my body’s intuitive guidance to lead me. I want to feel alive, really feeling every single deep emotion, instead of avoiding or suppressing it.
KIND, GENEROUS, LOVING & FUN
Simply because there’s no other way of being! This is an expression of divine feminine and this is who I always want to be! We need more love, generosity and kindness in the world.
I hope this encourages you to reflect on who you want to become too, for this year and beyond!
It’s never too early or late to reflect on our growth and values and we certainly don’t need a NEW year to do that.
I believe that REAL GROWTH is who we evolve into as greater versions of ourselves, not just what we achieve.
Just remember that who you want to be is all about YOU. It is a deeply personal thing and any answer can be right as long as it leads you to the path of a fulfilling life and achieving your goals.
I’d love to hear if this is something that you have been reflecting on too. Tell me in the comments below.
